Old Black & White

I have a bottle of Blended Scotch Whisky that I am trying to find the value of. It is about 60 years old in it's original bottle unsealed. Info is "By Appointment to her Majesty the Queen Scotch Whisky Distillers James Buchanan & Co. Ltd." It is blended and bottled in Scotland by James Bucheeneen Ltd. The distillers Glasgow & London Glentauchers Distillery Mulben Spayside. Can anyone help me with this?

For a bottle valuation, please ask contact Martin Green at McTears Auctioneers - his email address is HERE.

Best of luck to you!

We have the same bottles?

Hi, i was also looking to find out if a bottle of mine was worth anything. I think we have the same bottle. i was wondering if you had any luck with your search.

I was wondering if the label with the two dogs is diamond shaped and under the rectangular label if it says distilled and bottle in scotland under british government supervision.

i also have a bottle that's about 56 years old and sealed and was given a valuation by Martin Green back in 2003 of around 70 pounds but i assume the value would have increased over the past 5.5 years.

Old Black & White and much much more

I have half of a case of B&W that old, still individually boxed, and another 25 cases of some other great stuff I just retrieved from grandma's basment. She was 100 years old. The grandparents used to throw parties and give bottles away at the his law firm for Christmas back in the 60s - 70s.

DCTrip - can you post a photo of one of the bottles? If so, be sure to get a clear, close up (so we can read it) of the label.

B&W and the rest

I will, over the next few weeks, attempt to photo ID the bottles recently inherited. It will be a tremendous task that will move at a snails pace. Regarding whisky, I have Ballantine, House of Lords, Robertson's B.E.B., Black and White, Chivas, Cutty Sark, John Jameson & Son, Paddy, John Power & Son,as well as, J&B. In the American variety of bourbon whiskey I have Old Grand Dad, Old Taylor, and I.W. Harper. Finally, from Canada, I have MacNaughton, Canadian Club, Old MacLeod.
The wine botlles have 1957 and 1961 labels, as well as some of the packing boxes, so my educated guess is that the whiskey was purchased around the same time. I also noticed that some of these products actually came in decanters, individually boxed or wrapped, as they were intended as Christmas or office party presents in the law firm.

Not sure the year. But we think 1971 or older.
