Selling whiskey on tap
First off, I apologize if this question has already been answered in another thread. I have been searching all over, and am not having much luck. Also I'm pretty sure I probably posted this in the wrong spot. Not sure where this question fits.
I work in a bar in downtown Minneapolis, and lately I have noticed a few places have been serving rogue whiskey on tap, just like beer. I would love to encourage my bar owner to try to get this, but I'd like to educate myself a little on the matter before I start harassing him. Has anyone else heard of this? Is it hard to do? Does the whiskey come in your traditional 16 gallon keg, or does it come in a cask? Would new beer lines be necessary or could you run whiskey with the existing lines? Would your typical cO2 powered tap system even work? Also, I realize that prices vary by region, but can anybody ballpark the cost of one of these kegs/casks? Any information on the matter would be much appreciated. I look forward to your answers! |
