Macallan 25 yo Anniversary Bottle ?

My dad left me a bottle of MACALLAN- over 25 years old Anniversary Malt distilled in 1975 bottled in 2000. It is in a wood crate with leather straps. Can you give me any information regarding this whiskey. Can you give me a value of this bottle or should i just drink it up and thank Dad for having such good taste!

Macallan 25 yo anniversary bottle

You can expect to get ~$500.00 for the Macallan 1975 original bottling that you have. Your only problem now is finding a buyer. If you send it to one of the auction houses in Europe ( e. g., McTears, WhiskyAuction.Com, etc. ) you may end up with ~$250.00, if you're lucky after paying for shipping fees to Europe and all associated fees connected with auctions. Your best bet is to place on eBay. The U. S. is auction UNfriendly when it comes to whiskies, unless of course you inquire with CHRISTIES in New York. New York now allows whisky auctions. Good Luck.

I would not be concerned about the Money, have a "glass" with your old man every now and then to remember and honor him.

It might go for more than $500 on Ebay. These are starting to turn up at a much lower frequency than a few months ago.
If you're not comfortable with Ebay then it becomes a bit more difficult!:(
