Whisky...

whiskeyrookie - hello!

Maybe this will help you...Here are some of the best selling single malt single malt Scotches sold in the States: Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, Macallan and Balvenie. Do you know if your friend prefers a single malt or a blend? If he/she does, here are some of the best selling blends (in the States): Dewar's, Johnnie Walker, J&B, Chivas Regal, and Cutty Sark.

I hear that Glenmorangie is the best selling single malt in Scotland and the The Famous Grouse is the best selling blend in Scotland.

There are so many good whiskies - if the above doesn't help you, then try and find out what Scotch your friend drinks now and maybe that will help me help you.

And by the way - have you checked out all the different Scotches on this site? Take some time to read about them which may help you with your decision.

Personally for me, I like Glenlivet 18 Year Old and Glenfiddich 12 Year Old.

Scotch Whisky

OK, now you have me really thinking....

If someone was buying me a Scotch as a present, I'd like Macallan 12 Year Old, Glenfarclas 10 Year Old or Balvenie 12 Year Old....

You could always 'trick' your friend and say you were thinking of trying Scotch and ask what he/she recommends... Perhaps you might even get out of him/her..."I like this Scotch, but have always wanted to try this...."

Good luck - let me know what you decide and how your friend likes it!
