Homecoming Grouse
 

hi , I am completely new to this so be patient!! A long time enjoyer of whisky, last year I was blessed with a bottle of 37 year old famous grouse, there were 250 made. One for each year since the birth of Robert Burns's life, I would like to know if there is any way of knowing how many are left , and what they are now worth ? I can supply Photos if required, although not at the moment.

I found this as part of a Google search :
"The Famous Grouse created 250 limited edition bottles of 37 year old blended malt to mark both Burns? 250th birthday and the 37 years of his short but fruitful life. Renowned Scottish artist and playwright John Byrne was commissioned to create an original drawing of Robert Burns to adorn this limited edition whisky, making it a unique collector's item as part of The World Famous Burns Supper celebration. In keeping with the humanitarian spirit of Burns, these bottles were only available for Charity Auction. Each one was valued at a minimum of £400 but some were sold for over £1,200 and on one occasion £2,887 was raised".

Sounds like you have a very valuable bottle od scotch on your hands!!:):)

This is what I found out....these bottles were sent all over the world and auctioned off for charity. There are none left and our contact thinks the guide price was about £200 (because all proceeds went to charity most of the bottles went for considerably higher) - however, our contact says they'd double the guide price.

The variations in valuation are understandable, as they were sold were at charity auctions, John Barleycorn has a lot to answer for !!:confused:
