Royal Salute (Green Decanter)

I recently received a bottle of Royal Salute in a green decanter for the birth of my first born. What a treat.......This actual bottle was over 25 years old (if not 30) and it was still exquisite in taste due to proper storage all these years. My question is does Chivas still produce Royal Salute in green bottles? I want to replenish my father-in-laws whisky collection with another one. Thanks

There were three 'colors' originally I believe. A green a red/burgundy and a brown decanter. You can still find the various colors offered on Ebay. It is still being produced but I did a search of the chivas web site and Royal Salute is not shown in their product line which I find curious.
Spode originally made the containers and is a maker of fine English chinawear.
I believe they stopped using Spode many years ago most likely due to cost.
Its still a ceramic container however. The current maker of the container is produced by a company by the name of Wade.

Yes, but do you know if they still manufacture green decanters?

Anyone else know if Chivas still currently produces their Royal Salute in a green decanter?

Royal Salute

Yes, Royal Salute which is owned by Chivas is available in three colors: green which represents emeralds, red which represents rubies and blue which represents amethysts. The colors represent the jewels on the coronation crown worn by HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Thank you Jojo! I can't seem to find any other color besides blue in my local stores or online for that matter (except old vintage bottles). Anyone seen the green decanter in their local stores?

Royal Salute - Green Decanter

You can buy Royal Salute in most duty free shops in the green decanter. BTW, Chivas Regal also offered a black decanter - not sure if it is still available - Royal Salute LXX Black. One sold on ebay during Dec'09 and the seller has another one available.
