Age and info about this JW Red Bottle Please
My father-in-law gave me this bottle which he has had in his basement for a long time. I suspect that it is from the early 70s but wondered if anyone could help me with determining its age. I know that Scotch doesn't age in the bottle, but wonder if it will taste different from today's JW because of a different blend. Does anyone know if the blends have changed significantly over the last decades? http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e171/polaar/jw.jpg

Can you get a closer (and must be clear) image of the label? Also, the closure - any writing on the seal? Be sure to include it!

Thanks for the reply. The tax seal reads "U.S. Internal Revenue Tax Paid 672227243" and "I-497" Here are additional shots of the labels:

Johnnie Walker Red from the 1970s
Yes, you are correct - your bottle of Johnnie Walker Red is dated from the 1970s. I am not aware of any change in the recipe for this blend!
