Thanks for the chill filter answer. I suppose the same is true with caramel coloring (E150)- if it doesn't say that it's not used, then it is? Too bad. It should be the other way around- they should have to list these things on the label. I know, "should" is a 4 letter word. Also, I just can't tell by looking- I have a Bruichladdich (no caramel) that's very dark, and a Caol Ila (doesn't say) that's very pale. Ah, well, shut up, Niklaus, if it tastes good, don't worry about it. Thanks again.
