View Full Version : Maker's Mark Limited Edition
I've come across an old bottle of maker's mark 101 proof. It appears to be older...from what I've found maybe 1970-1971?? It has a green wax seal with the tax ribbon across it. I'm looking to find out if I should pop it open for a special occasion or hang on to it being its worth some cash. Any help would be appreciated.
Here are some pics of the bottle...I hope this helps!

I believe they bottle the green wax ones every year for the Kentucky Derby week. If I'm correct then drink and enjoy
That's the mint julip one not this...I've been scouring the internet to no avail. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I found one site that said possible 1970-1971
Hmmmm...we will see if we can find out for you. :)
From my notes, it looks like you have a highly collectible Maker's Mark bottle - very rare from the 1970s. This was the first version of Maker's Mark's 101 proof bottle - later dipped in gold wax. The gold wax 101 was discontinued in the mid 90s. :D
Awesome! Thanks for the info. Is this something I should consider holding onto or pop open for a special occasion??
I contacted Maker's and they are doing some research on their part. They said the bottle is from 1969 based on the raised markings on the bottom of the bottle...i'll keep ya'll updated
We look forward to the info! Thanks. :)
