Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and like what I see! I've been a single malt guy for a few years, and enjoy stuff from across the board. My local shop just started carrying Compass Box, and I would like to hear from those that have tried it. Currently, they have Peat Monster , Spice Tree, Oak Cross, Flaming Heart and Orangerie in stock.

Thanks!

My wife prefers Islay bottles and found the Peat Monster to be quite enjoyable.
I'm primarily a Bourbon drinker (some Rum & JD as well) and found that the
Hedonism and Asyla were more to my liking.

You might want to look into tracking down the CB Sampler (http://lastcallwines.com/compass-box-scotch-sampler-gift-set.html) - a nice way to try
five of CB offerings relative inexpensively.

Thanks for the info, Silverfish. I'll look into the sampler, didn't know that was available. I picked up the Peat Monster last night, and I really enjoyed it. Very complex for a blend, nice and peaty!

I think I might grab a bottle of the Spice Tree to see if the hype about the influence of the French Oak on the Highlands malts is true.

Does anyone know of other whiskies aged in French Oak?
