Hi all,

I've recently learnt that the Glenfiddich 18 year old is made in different batches and that this batch number can be found on the bottle. So I took mine, which I have purchased quite a few years back, and I cannot seem to locate any mention of a batch number.

Can any one tell me where it is supposed to be or what its format is like?

Thanks in advance.

Having done some more research I do notice that nowadays the bottle label at the bottom front clearly lists the batch number. Apparently my bottle must predate this format.

So now I wonder if I can determine the batch number of my bottle in any other way? Or if they didn't assign batch numbers then?

Does any one know when they started putting the batch numbers on the bottles?

I've been trying to value my collection, and this has brought such details to my attention. So any input would be appreciated.

All the best for the new year as well!

We found out that Glenfiddich started printing batch numbers on their 18 year old bottlings in 2007. ;)

I was just looking at mine and im pretty sure it was etched on the back of the bottle on the very bottom of the bottle it was pretty faint and hard to read but it told me the batch number and time it was completed in military time ( 24 hr time I.E. 19:51)

Great info. It explains why mine doesn't feature one on the label. Think I've bought mine 3-4 years earlier.

I should recheck the bottle for this. If anything is really there it must be really faint since I already scanned for such marks.
