Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and single malts. So far I've enjoyed both the forum and the malts.

I do have one question, if you had a chance to purchase The MaCallan 25 year old would it be worth it or would you recommend another single malt that's better? I've been reading the reviews by Michael Jackson and he gives the 25yo a 95 rating. I also read that he was a big fan of MaCallan so I wonder if he was some what bias.

Thanks in advanced and I look forward to the responses.

The original 25yr that was the heavily sherried finish I always thought to be a superb drink - sadly it is no longer offered although it shows up for auction reasonably often. I would think that is the one Michael was rating as a 95.:)
I've not had the 25yr fine oak which is the current bottling.:(
Neither will be inexpensive.

I was referring to the sherried oak version. I'm wondering if it's worth it or is there something out there that someone would recommend over the 25 yo sherried oak.
