Hi there,

I'm looking to buy my fiancee a nice bottle of scotch as a wedding gift. Looking to spend about $200-$300. I know very little about scotch and could use some direction on how to pick it, or some specific recommendations.

I do know he got a bottle of Laphroaig (I believe the 15 year?) recently and seemed to like it, and also has had a bottle of the MacAllan 18 year and seemed to like that.

I talked to someone at BevMo who recommended these four in my price range:

1) Highland Park 25
2) Balvenie 21
3) Aberfeldy 21
4) Glenfarcles 25

Any thoughts on those four? Based on the information I have given (which I know is limited), does anyone have other recommendations?

Thanks!

Well the two Scotch's you say he likes are two totally different flavor profiles. Below is a list of Scotch's from both profiles and pricing according to BevMo's website. If you have any other questions let me know.

Bowmore Single Malt 25 Year Old $269.99
Glenfarclas 1974 Vintage $249.99
Bruichladdich 20 Year Old Flirtation $199.99
Caol Ila 25 Yr Old $199.99
Talisker 25 Year Old $199.99
Springbank 12 Yr Cask$199.99
Balvenie Scotch 21 Year Portwood $169.99
Bruichladdich 18 Yr $149.99
Glenfarclas 25 Year $149.99
Glenmorangie Scotch 18 Year $139.99
Auchentoshan Single Malt 18 Yr $129.99

There are a lot that are less expensive than these if you choose so. Which are really good also.
