View Full Version : Haig and Haig 5 Star
I was sifting through the family cabinet recently and stumbled across an old looking bottle of Haig and Haig 5 Star whiskey. No one can tell me a thing about it with regards to the age. If you could, could you tell me the age of the bottle and any information about the value?
Thanks,
Zach
Hi Zach - we can try to have your bottle dated, but not valued. For a value, try McTears.com or Bonhams.com
Thanks for the photos :)
Using the photographs you provided, the Diageo Archive Department (Haig's parent company) attempted to date the bottle. They were unable to find an exact match for your bottle in the archives bottle or advertisement collections so could only offer an approximate date. The bottle label appears to be very similar to the those of the 1950s bottles. However the closure is from a later period. Other Haig & Haig brands from the 1960s feature the same closure and since the Five Star bottle changes design in the 1970s, they believe your bottle is from the 1960s. :)

Hi, my husband and I were given in 1992 a HAIG PINCH SCOTCH WHISKY Bottle by a customer in appreciation for work preformed in his home after a hurracaine.
This bottle is a Dimple Cobalt Blue Ceramic Decanter with Gold Markings, packaged in a triangular plastic box with a label stating it is a 15 year old scotch whisky.
The person that gave us this had it in his bar for 30+ years and never opened.
We have keep it away from light in a cool place and in the upright position since 1992.
We would like to sell it, but we can't find any information regarding this bottle, like year it was marketed or price that can be offer.
Can you help us????:confused::confused:

Thank you here are some pictures of the decanter in it's original triangular box.
We have email the two companies you mentioned for a price estimate and waiting a reply.

If you've had it upright all this time, the cork is most likely dry and will rip right off when you try and open it.
