I have an old 1954 Crown Royal 4/5 Quart from the Waterloo distillery. It is still sealed and has never been opened.
I guess I have a couple questions regarding this bottle, first, is there an approximate value? Second question is, since this is from the Waterloo distillery, is it the same whisky that is being sold today as Crown Royal XR? And I last question, would it be worth drinking, saving or selling? I very much enjoy Canadian whisky, but don't know how different the flavor profile is between the Waterloo Distillery and what is there today. And if I decide to sell it, are there other places to sell other than feeBay?

1954! A very nice year. Again a whisky does not mature in the bottle it is as when it was bottled..... However how it was stored, where it was stored and storage temperature will have factors on the final taste of the bottles contents.
For the collector the bottle and labels all in excellent condition and the attached fact booklet would make it desirable to a collector. If you are not looking for money kept it for awhile or crack it and enjoy. As to value at Auction between 120.00 to 160.00 on the high side. Pickers would only offer 75.00.

Hope this helps.

I found an opened bottle dated 1955, that my dad had put away in a cabinet. Thankfully he had closed it tightly! I decided to share it with fellow cast members at the cast party after "Harvey" finished its 8 performance run at the local community theatre...very nice. Something I haven't enjoyed in a long time and it was certainly enjoyed by all that were lucky enough to get a sip...or two!
