First off I love whiskey. I'm far from a connoisseur but I've learned enough to know life is too short for cheap booze. So, I ran across a guy selling some old full, half full and empty bottles of various alcohol on Craigslist. I was intruiged by one bottle in particular. I bought the entire lot pretty cheap and I'll make a few bucks but I have something I can't identify. This has only happened a few times in all the years I've been dealing in antiques and collectibles. I have no idea what this bottle of whiskey is worth, I can't find any online and my local guys who should know can't help. It's a mini bottle of "Silver Pitcher Whiskey". It says "Bottled and sold by J.M. Davis Sole proprietor, Minneapolis, MN". Now I did find info on JM Davis and it puts the bottle pre 1915. The label is fully intact and someone wrote on it in pencil. It's hard to make out much of it but it looks like a persons name, Duluth, MN and clearly 1901. I usually put zero stock in anything written as a true sign of dating. However, the writing is appropriately aged with the label. The label itself is in great condition and with what I have been able to figure out, I'd guess late 1800's to very early 1900's is completely accurate. It has a cork in it that is broken off and flush with the top. The bottle is about 1/4 full. I guess that makes me an optimist. My questions are: Does anyone out there have the same or similar bottle? What are the chances this is a one of a kind considering it still has some whiskey in it? Can anyone put an accurate value on it? If I can't find these answers here, can anyone point me to someone who can? Thanks in advance.

I am new to this and I can't help you with any of your questions, sorry. But, if you find anybody that can help you would you mind e'mailing me their info? I have been trying to get answers to my questions and nobody has answered mine. I have a case of very old white horse scotch whiskey ;unopened; that I am trying to get some answers on myself. My e-mail is unclebrianb@hotmail.com
Thanks, Brian

Hi,
I think that will be difficult for everyone here to help you unless you show us some pictures of the bottle. The easiest way to determine age of the whisky-bottle is to look at it.

Hi Brian,
In your other thread Jojo asked you to post a photo of each of the different bottles you want dated. That's the first step to determine what you have and what it might be worth. She can usually get them dated for you.
Cheers.
