Hi All! First, thank you for hosting this great site. What a wealth of information!

I have a friend who's family used to own a local hotel/tavern in the early 1900's. He has about 80 or so bottles of vintage whiskey. The name on "some" is Boardman's from Boston. Some of the others don't have a name on them, or are embossed glass for "medicinal" use. I am looking for some information. Firstly, is it safe to consume, and will it be good? Secondly is concerning value. He seems to think it's worth at least $100 per bottle, and wants to sell it to me. I don't see that much value, but I'm sure you folks should know a little more. While some of it is pre-prohibition or even during prohibition, most of it is just post pro. Please help. I am grateful for any help that I can get. Thank you in advance!! David Pastore

How is whisky spelled on the bottle? Whisky or whiskey? Can you get a clearer picture of that front label because it's too dark for us to read. We will try to see what we can find out for you!

From the bottles they both look to be American Whiskies rather than Scotch or Bourbon. There may be a slight chance that they're Canadian but I'd go with American
