Just an FYI for anyone seeking info on a Glenlivet 21 year see photos.

Age: 21 years Size: 75 cl. Strength: 43% alc./vol.

Description: U.S. Importers gift box of The Glenlivet. Clear bottle with red foil cap. Small front label with gold text indicating importing company from New York and contains health warning for pregnant women and operating machinery. Comes in red velvet box with silver chain to go over bottle, glass decanter, lined with yellow cloth. External cardboard box, red with “The GLENLIVET – AGED 21 YEARS” in gold text.

There is a certificate inside to send to J.B. Ashworth (but has retired in the early 1990s). The label puts this c1989 – 1990. Each bottle comes in a numbered Stuart Crystal decanter. Not sure how many were made but we have bottle number 586.

The whiskies in the bottle were distilled no later than 1969 and date back to when the distillery was still family owned and run by Capt. Bill Smith Grant, the last descendant of George Smith to be directly involved with The Glenlivet. This whisky’s distillation pre-dates Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, the first Jumbo Jet and Woodstock…. It really is a blast from the past.
