I know nothing about Whisky but these are all very old bottles. Brands are Ambassador, Haig, Weston's, Beam, and a couple others. I would like to post pictures, but I am new to this forum, and at the bottom it says "You may not post attachments."
What can I post here that would help finding out what I have?
Thanks
Eric

1. Ambassador 12 year sticker on cap has # 28549280 says imported from Scotland
2. Haig & Haig #36-8531416 3 sided bottle
3. Haig & Haig Pinch #33030145
4. Weston's 12 year Grand Reserve
5. Ballantines (in box)
6. Bulloch Lade Old Rarity #13-1285915
There are more, all are sealed. All say in glass something to the effect of "Federal Law prohibits the reuse of the bottle" and most have a state of Illinois sticker that says "Tax paid at the rate of $1.00 per gallon"
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

All the Scotch Whisky bottles appear to be from the late 50's to late 60's but your best way of aging them is to search the Illinois State websit and find out the time period when the tax was $1 a gallon.

So, is anything worth selling off, or is it pretty much time to drink up? =)
Ambassador, Haig & Haig, Ballentine's - all comon brands. Offhand I don't have much info on your Weston's whisky. As for the commons labels - if they are as blenderm noted from the 50s & 60s - drink up and enjoy - just know that over all these years, your whisky will not go bad, however the taste will likely have changed a bit due to air coming in contact with the spirit.

I've just checked my labels and Westons were a brand owned by Train & MacIntyre who were bought over by Distillers Company [Deagio] in the mid 50's so that puts it around the early 50's. I reckon that this is about the only one with any value if you could find a buyer
Thanks blenderm - glad you could pass along some info on Westons. :D
Clueless, I'll check with Diageo's archive dept to see if it's possible to get some info on Westons for you. :)

It looks like I'm in for some good drinking and also have a couple good gifts when I find some whisky lovers.
Thanks again

Sounds like a good idea :)
By the way, we found out Weston's is not and was not a part of the Diageo portfolio . Possibly a current or former Canadian whisky from Pernod Ricard.

I doubt it's part of the Perod stable as they were never involved with the purchase. My details came from an ex employee of T & M from 1936 to 1953 who then worked for Hiram Walker in Scotland. It's definitely a Scotch from the label but I guess it one of the companies and brands that DCL didn't want and never used so all details have been lost.
