We've been told by Cadenheads that these bottlings were done by them in the early 90s for a chain of shops called Oddbins and have since become reasonably popular with collectors. The Springbanks, Ardbegs and Lagavulins fetch about £200. This one should be around £100 in the UK. However, if you are located in the US, you might find a higher bid as this bottling was not available there. If you're in the US, contact Park Avenue Liquors (212-685-2442) or the Brandy Library (212-226-5545) - both do valuations. If you're in Europe, try McTears.com or Bonhams.com Let us know what you find out so we can post here for all to see

Thanking you Jojo for your reply. I am somewhat quizzed with your reply, re: bottled for Oddbins in 1990's as on the bottle of Cadenheads I have, it says that it was bottled in 1977.
Also I attached a pic of Bells very rare 21 year old, it has been in my family for at least 20, and it was handed down to us. I would appreciate your comment on this.
Best regards,

Let me look into this further for you. As for your Bell's - we definitely need much better photos in order to have dated. As for value, try any of the aforementioned companies that specialize in valuations.

Reeluin - the date 1977 is the vintage of production (ie distillation) and unfortunately the year of bottling was not recorded so the age is unspecified. It will be approximately 15yo.

Thank you Jojo, for your replies, time and effort. For what I have been quoted I am disappointed that these are not worth more and I have decided to drink and enjoy them instead!!!

We have been clearing out my late grandad's house and have come across a bottle of Johnnie Walker Premier Rare Old Scotch Whisky, black label, 43% proof. Its in a presentation box and seems to have been bought from Bangok Airport. Can you please place a value on this?

We can determine an approximate time when your JW was bottled - but not a valuation. Can you post photos so we can at least start off with determing how long ago it was bottled?

Jojo,

We have a bottle of Ballantine's, one gallon, in a wooden pouring rig. Our best guess is it was bottled in the 70's. Your thoughts are solicited.

It's possible we can date it, but as always, we need photos!

Any idea of the value of a 2006 "Against the Grain" single malt, called "Wax and Wane"?

Two ways to get an indication of the value of a bottle:
- look it up in the auction results at whiskyauction.com
- post it on eBay with a high reserve (this will get you an 'at least' value)

Hi Jojo,

I have a Crown Royal from 1968 and a Johnnie Walker black from the same year. Both are sealed and in perfect condition. Do you have any idea what their selling price would be?

Thank you in advance

John - Not much. These are both mass produced blended whiskies. For these (or any) standard brands, the general and main things which contribute to a possible increase in their value will be a label or bottle (packaging) change from what is current. However, because there are millions of bottles sold of these kinds of brands, it takes years for rarity to become a positive factor (even though most are consumed fairly quickly). That said, the first year of a new label or bottle will have generally have more value than the last year of the old label and bottle because that was the last year of a package that may have been packaged for many, many years of millions of bottles made annually. Assuming 750 ml, JWB now sells for around $35 USD and CR around $25 USD.

Can anyone tell me what a bottle of Johnnie Walker Rare is worth? I have heard that it's sold for $1300 US or more but have no current info.

Since these are not available to buy, and are therefore rare, and also contain no whisky would you be able to suggest a value for one? These were a marketing tool produced by Macallan in collaboration with Roja Dove.
