Are you sure its not Glendronach?
I couldn't find a 'Glendarroch' in any of Jim Murray's 2011 'Whisky Bible' nor could I find it at The Whisky Exchange' which is in London.
A google search turned it up as an offering from Glenfarclas and there is atleast one 42 yr offering at $189.
Atleast I now know where it came from.

I found this blog from a guy who makes "The Barnard Whisky Journey" now (more than 100 years after Barnard did the journey)

I acutally found this scotch on eaby, listed as "Lonach Glendarroch 42 yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky" for 179.99$. I had a hard time finding information about it. Nor could I find people with opinion of its taste. Therefore I seek your input.

The information provided is much appreciated. The blog link provides a lovely read which I enjoyed. I am still curious about its taste, a 42 yo scotch going for under 200$ just got me pondering.... Is it really that aged, priced THAT reasonably?

Dale - a lot of the pricing is based on the whisky's named distillery - IMO.
Since this wasn't marketed under Glanfarclas or Macallan or Glenfiddich as examples even the very old may not be priced all that high.
Just my $0.02!

I recently purchased this and yes, it is that price for the age. Many very aged whiskeys take on alot of the oak and are very rich in their taste. I dont pretend to have a cultured palate but this a good whiskey that you wont just find everywhere.
