I think most of you would agree Balvenie 21 is great stuff. However, I cannot make a bottle of that last more than 3 days. So to be a bit more economical, I have been grabbing up Madeira 17. IMHO it's not the same caliber as the Portwood, but I think 21 lovers would like it. I will let the pros describe it, but remember once it's gone it's gone. If you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest you do so before it becomes a collectors item.:). Btw I think I'm on my 5th bottle - I like it.

Of course I'd appreciate others thoughts.

Yes, Madeira Cask is good stuff. Unfortunately, it isn't exactly an "inexpensive" bottle of whisky itself.

Alas, I have finished off my bottles of both the 21yr Port Wood and the 17yr Madeira Cask. :(

The Balvenie 21 year Portwood remains one of my top pics, but it is pricey. I do like the Madeira 17 year, but wanted to share that last time I tried the DoubleWood, it really caught my attention. I have had it in the past, liked it, but this time, it was really great - and it's much less expensive. ;)
