I have a bottle of Johnnie Walker Extra Special Black Label in a 1.875 litre bottle in a wooden tipping cradle (see photo). This was purchased in the 1970's in South Africa. Does anyone have any idea of the event which triggered this particular edition and any ideas of its worth. I haven't seen another like it anywhere. Would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks.
Apart from value, I can see what I can find out... : ) Thanks for the pic!

This is a Chinese counterfit Johnnie Walker. I called Johnnie headquarter and they said they never made this edition.
Unfortunately we couldn't find out too much about your Johnnie Walker other than it dates from the time when cradles were first introduced and initially lots of them were wooden, whereas later ones were metal.

A "counterfeit chinese" bottle, seriously, it could be just tea or some cheap whiskey poured in. Can't believe the "chinese" would do something like this?

I purchased a wooden cradle containing a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label just like this in 1974 when I attended the FBI National Academy in Quantico. Wish I could find one now.
