A good friend brought me a bottle of Cardhu from Scotland (God bless her!) and sadly I'm nearing the bottom.
I don't know much about scotch but I know what I like when I taste it and I LOVE Cardhu. Since I can't get it in the U.S. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about what might be similar in character.
Hi zouee - Since Cardhu is a Speyside whisky - how about trying Cragganmore (richer full bodied and not as sweet as Cardhu) or The Singleton of Glendullan (lighter and not as much peat as Cardhu). Cragganmore 12yo is one of my favorites and the Glendullan is also very good - just a much lighter Scotch which I find very smooth and enjoyable (and very affordable). Hope this helps....

Cardhu 12yr is offered at this web site :
singlemaltsdirect.com/index.php
I've used them. Great service but the shipping is about $35/bottle but you'll receive in about 5 business days!

There's a 12yr on Ebay right now but its at $156 which is high! Its almost double what you'd pay if you ordered from the web site I noted earlier in this thread and paid the single bottle shipping charges!
