Bought 4 bottles at christmas for customers but for got to hand them out thing is i am half waythrough the first bottle and it does not taste like macallan at all best way to discribe it is "just a wee bit better than grouse"
not the usual smooth its a bit rough & firey
not that fine on the nose either
what has happened ?:(

Hmmm.....not sure what's going on here. Is the Macallan 10yo what you usually drink? Is it the Fine Oak or the Sherry Oak? If this is your usual drink and it's just not right after trying several times, I would contact Macallan directly and let them know your thoughts. I'm happy to pass along your comments to our contact at Macallan, just let me know.

sorry its the 10 year old sherry cask which has been my chosen drink for the past 4 -5 years apart from the odd bottle of Balvenie double wood
I did have a quick look to see if i could contact macallan by email but dident find anything i could give them a call i suppose as they are only 25 miles from me

I know what they'll say. Nothing.
It must be a new bottling. Switch to 12yo sherried, it's consistent all right.
