I just helped out a neighbor and they handed me a bottle of White Horse scotch.
It's got to be about 35 years old. It has the red stamp seal on it and the top has a metal type hinge on it to open like you would see on a bottle of Grolsch. The bottle was wrapped up in paper and still had the foam packing around it. My neighbor told me he did a job for an older woman and she gave him a whole case of it.
How can I tell what vintage this bottle is?
Nice gift! We'll need for you to post photos for us. Be sure to include the label so we can read it as well as a close up of the closure. Need help posting photos, let me know!

Anyone have any idea of how old this one is?

Can you get us a clear, close up of the label? We need to be able to read it! Thanks!

The top picture reminds me of one that my friend has. It's from the early 1970s. He is the one that introduced me to scotch 7 years ago. Haven't looked back yet. I now have over 70 bottles in my collection.
Enjoying a Clan MacGregor right now...it's my house scotch.

While helping my uncle clear out some of my grandfathers clutter from the old farm stead, we found a bottle (4/5s of a pint) in a pressed-cardboard box, with the White Horse emblem pressed into the box. The cap actually has a wax seal on it.
I figure it to be pretty old. Gramps owned a bar until 1957 in Cornelle Wisconsin. The bottle was tucked away in the back of an old roll up desk that had been locked for years. The state tax sticker on it is for 10 cents.
It has a number on the front of the bottle which reads - F64720.
I've had the bottle for near ten years.
Anyone have any idea what it could be worth.

It's likely not going to have any great value - sorry! White Horse is a common brand that is still in production today -and- old bottles are definitely not hard to find. We receive more age requests for old bottles of White Horse than any other brand.

It is great to discover you folks through Google although sometimes I don't care for them. I also have a bottle like the one pictured with a serial number about a million bottles lower, if that is the way they are numbered. My number is 1519551. The bottle was discovered after my Dad passed. The Whisky was well cared for, kept at an even temp and never saw daylight. I wish I knew the value. Maybe I should just open and enjoy. If anyone has any thoughts on the age of the Whiskey please let me know. Thanks!
