I'm looking for a recommendation of a good single malt scotch. I don't like the smoky tasting brands, not even a hint of smoke. Does anyone have a recommendation of a good 12 yr single malt scotch with no hint of smoke?
Will a 10 year do? I love Glengoyne 10 year old (about $40). Their process involves using air-dried barley as opposed to barley being dried using harsh peat smoke. There is a 12 year old, but I have not tried that one yet (but have read good reviews). Another favorite of mine with no peat is Glenmorangie D'Or - it's a 12 year old - cost is about $75.

Thanks. A 10 year is fine and I'll give it a try. I'm new to Single Malt scotches and appreciate your recommendation.

I have a bottle of Aberfeldy 12yo that I think is good if you are not a fan of peat. And it can often be found inexpensively (I got mine for $25).

If my memory serves me right the Tormore 10yr is quite good and it is not smokey.

The Macallan 10yr Fine Oak is very smooth, you might want to give that a go.
Cheers!
