I know that some bourbons are made in Tennessee (like Jack Daniels, etc) but is the whole state dry? Seems that I have heard that it is, unless I misunderstood somebody.

According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dry_county#States_which_permit_localities_to_go_dr y):

"Three states, Kansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee, are entirely dry by
default: counties specifically must authorize the sale of alcohol in order
for it to be legal and subject to state liquor control laws."

so it is possible that some counties have authorized alcohol sales
but I can't say for certain if any have done so.

TN is not dry. The county where they make Jack Daniels, Lynchburg, is dry however.

Lynchburg is the city in Moore County, which is dry.
