Hi, I was wandering if anyone can perhaps give me a bit more information about a bottle of Black & White scotch whisky i have. The only text on the bottle is on the labels, and no indication of age or alcohol % etc.
Im guessing its around 1970's 80's but i cant find any information on it anywhere. any help appreciated. heres a photo.

This is an excellent shot of the closure. Can you also post photos of the entire bottle? And one of the label (clear enough to be able to read).
Thanks!

Jojo, i got a reply from Alia
Looking at the label on the bottle, and comparing it to others in our collection, I would give your bottle a date of c1975. At this point in time Buchanan's did not include a statement of alcohol by volume, but the volume of the whisky will be 40%.
Our technical department would not advise you to drink the whisky from this bottle as whisky generally has a shelf life of between 10 and 15 years after which the colour and taste may begin to deteriorate.
which is a shame as i was really looking forward to drinking it.
also..
Also, if you are interested in parting with your bottle, please get in touch with me here at the Archive. We don't currently have such a good example of a Black & White 3.75 litre bottle, and are always looking to acquire new historic examples of our brands.
But im not sure if i really want to part with it or not.. and estimates what something like this would go for at auction?
disrupt3r - Happy to hear you did get some information and thanks for posting! As for value, contact Martin Green from Bonhams in Edinburgh - he specializes in estimates, however, keep in mind a small fee may be involved. You can reach him at: martin.green -AT - bonhams.com
