What kind of value is attached to this bottle of whisky which I have had since 1996. I would be happy to sell it if the price was within reason.

DH,
Douglas Laing & Co Ltd inherited this brand probably about 7 or 8 years ago from a Mr Richmond Douglas. He realistically only had the brand name and the contact with the Duke of Buccleuch who owns the Drumlanrig Castle shown on the label. As he had no stock of whisky, he would ask different people to supply him with the constituents he needed to put together his different bottlings and in this case, your photo shows that it was a 12 year old vatted/mixed malt in the bottle. The malts may have been supplied by Douglas Laing & Co Ltd, but as Mr Douglas carried out the bottlings in various different warehouses, they do not know the timescale or recognize the style of packaging he put together for this bottling in 75 cl for the USA.
Even nicely gift boxed as it is, we are told, could possibly sell for not much more than 50 or 60 US dollars. With great respect to the now deceased, Mr Douglas, his packaging was not exactly luxurious and he was unable to specialize with single casks to make the bottles more unique. It is our understanding that that your bottle could have been one of 6,000 other bottles.
