Greetings,

I have inherited an unopened bottle of Haig & Haig Pinch Scotch Whisky from my Father. He believes it may have been purchased circa 1972-74.

Is there any way to determine the age and value?

The bottle markings are as follows:

Z897
Haig & Haig
N 12
Scotland
U0?

Any assistance would be appreciated,

Hello JoJo
Is there any way to determine the age of this bottle for sure.
There is a debate in our Family, this bottle was my Dad's and the 'story' is that he bought it to celebrate VJ day and took only the one drink from it (he didn't drink) to celebrate the Allies victory. If this story is true then this bottle should be from the early to mid 40's. Perhaps you can help clear the issue up for us.
If the story is true then I wish to keep the bottle as it is part of our family history, if not I may just drink it.

Thanks ... Jesse

Hey there - your photos were too large, so I re-sized them and placed them below. For a larger image, click on the pic. I'll see about having your bottle dated :)

Hi! I just inherited this bottle from my Grandfather. We found it when we were cleaning out his house after his death so I can not ask him when he got it. Do you have a way of checking?

Hi JoJo,
I just recieved a bottle of Haig that I was hoping to determine the age of. The bottle is still sealed, but, not full? The bottling ribbon says: Renfield Importers LTD - Newark NJ #01277654.

For anyone looking to date their bottle of Haig, we can have that done for you, but we always need photos. You'll need to register first and then upload photos. If you need help posting pix..follow these steps below:

First, click on New Thread. In the body part of the thread - please list as much info as possible. Then, when you're ready to insert your photo, look for the paper clip icon (to the right of the smiley face). Click on it - a new window will open which gives you the option to browse your computer for your photo. Once you do that and Upload - close that window. If your photo does not attach, that means it's too big, so re-size and try again.

Once you're set and have closed out of that window, you'll be back to the main page with your question. Click on the paper clip icon again and it might say "Insert Attachments" or it may just show numbers - go ahead and either click on Insert Attachments or just click on the numbers and it will insert into your message. You won't actually see the photo until you either preview it (look to bottom of the body of your thread, below the icons and you'll see a button to either Submit New Thread or to Preview Post.

Once you click on either of these, you will see your photos. Please give it a try and let me know how it goes.
