This is a bottle of I.W. Harper Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and im wondering if anyone has any idea on its value? I think it's from the 70's but not entirely sure. It 86 proof and has never been opened and still has the bottle stamp across the cap. All the label are in great shape. Please post if you have any info on the whiskey. Thanks.

I was just wondering if you still have that harpers whiskey My grandfather collected decanters and old whiskey bottles but didnt sell his for very much... Our family last name is Harper and it would be cool to have if you have it and are selling.

You can find those bottles on eBay for 10-15$, it is indeed an old bottle, but whiskey inside is only 4 years old, and whiskey is in its peak condition when itís bottled and does not mature or get better once in the bottle. It is generally believed to have a shelf life of 15 years after which the colour and taste may begin to deteriorate, particularly if there has been any evaporation from the bottle.
As your bottle is older than this then I would recommend that, if you do intend to try to drink the whisky, you nose the contents well on opening to check that it smells ok.
There are many collectors out there, so you maybe can sell you whisky at a higher price, up to 50$ if you are lucky to find someone who badly need that kind of whisky.
