I'm somewhat new to whiskeys, but I have a question. And if this post is in the wrong section, I apologize.

Ok i enjoy some forms of whiskey, but there's a couple i can't stand. I have always enjoyed Crown most, and i enjoy Jack as well, but I prefer Crown for drinking on the rocks, and Jack for mixed drinks.. I also recently tried the Crown Royal 'Black', and it could be my new favorite, but I only had a small amount. However, I cant stand Jim Beam for some reason. It has some peculiar aftertaste that just doesn't bode well with me.

Anyway, I am trying to live on a very limited budget, so I was hoping someone could mention a cheap alternative that tastes similar to Crown/Crown Black if possible.. I have been wanting to drink some whiskey on the rocks occasionally, but I cant afford to buy Crown currently. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks

What's your budget? We hear that Forty Creek is by far the best Canadian whisky and is rated number one - even above the Crown Royal Reserve . It comes highly recommended and is normally under $20 for a 750ml bottle. Keep us posted! :D
