View Full Version : Identifying this Whisky - Grants Standfast Blended Scotch Whisky

Hey,

I've Just found this whisky at my grandpha home.
He bought this bottle in (maybe) switzerland, 1960-1970..

You may cannot see what is written, so here it is:

Im asking for helping me to identify it ( aged? how many years? ) and discuss about this whisky (say what you think about it)

It's a Grants Standfast Blended Scotch Whisky bottle not a Glenfiddich single malt. As it's unlabelled it's very unlikely there's any value so I'd recommend that you have a dram or three

Oh, I see. Thank you.

Can you say why it says "glenfiddich" written on the bottle? or why is unlabelled?

Grants original distillery was and is Glenfiddich and it was embossed on all their bottles, the labels could have been damages somehow and I take it were soaked off some time in the past. It's always been illegal to ship bottles without labels so possibly Grannpa was the culprit

So this whisky has a good quality OR poor quality since it have been stocked for many years? I will open it

It's always been a decent whisky as the 2 main malts are Glenfiddich and Balvenie and it should be OK to drink as the colour looks fine. If it's been kept near heat or in sunlight it will lighten the colour and possibly be a bit dryer than when bottled, enjoy.
